How to Get Back a Deleted Instagram Account

How to Reactivate Instagram Account

If you had temporarily disabled your Instagram account, you can easily reactivate it without losing your photos, videos, likes, comments.

However, if you have deleted your account permanently, you can not retrieve it back.
Restoring a permanently deleted account is not possible by any means. You can create a new Instagram account using the same email address you used before.

That’s why we always recommend people to deactivate their account temporarily so that they can reactivate their account later whenever they want.

Learn how to reactivate your deleted Instagram account by following the steps mentioned below.

Reactivate an Instagram Account

According to Instagram, you can restore your temporarily disabled account, by just logging back into the account.

  1. Open your Instagram app. Make sure the app is updated to the latest version.
  2. Enter username and password and hit Log in. If the login is successful, you’ll see a message that the account is reactivated and asking you to come back after few hours.
  3. If the login fails then you need to reset your password.

Reset your Password

  1. Click on Forgot password link and enter the username and fill out the Captcha.
  2. Click “Reset Password” button. It will send a reset password email to your registered email address. Click on the link to set a new password.
  3. However, if you have signed up to Instagram with your Facebook account, then use “Phone” option instead to reset your password.
  4. You’ll receive a text usually containing the reset password link. Click on the link and open it in the app. Enter your new password and then click “Reset Password”.

I think this should help you with reactivating your deleted Instagram account.

If you’re still experiencing issues logging into your account, try to reactivate Instagram using a mobile browser or a desktop browser. Simply, sign in with your login credentials and you’re all set.

Note: If Instagram has suspended your account due the to the violation of terms and community and guidelines, then it may not be possible to retrieve your account back.

If you think Instagram deactivated your account by mistake, you can write to Instagram help support at Mention your account username and issue.

Instagram Rules and Regulation: If you don’t want Instagram to suspend your account without any warning, avoid violating these Guidelines and Terms of service mentioned below:

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use Instagram.
  • Do not post any violent, nude and sexually explicit photos and videos on Instagram.

few days ago I temporarily deactivate my Instagram.
now I was trying to login again through my mobile, and it’s telling me that a “network error has occurred, please try again later” (without requiring a password).
I was trying the same through a laptop browser with MY password a few times, and it told me that it identified suspicious login activity in my account, so I should insert a verification code that was sent to my email.
I entered the code and it is now saying “Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again.”
I was trying to log in with this code and a new one (that was always the same!) again and again through laptop and mobile, changing password and login in, NOTHING WORKED.

please help me login to my account.
my login details are password mm161192

I am not clueless in technology and yet haven’t cracked it.
please don’t advise me to try again or something because I literally was doing everything right, it just didn’t work.

OH!!! Sorry for replying too late, I was inactive with my blog for past months. And about your problem with reactivating your Temporarily deactivated Instagram account, you’re not the only one who have faced this kind of issue. Many other users have also encountered these issues. I really don’t know if its a bug in Instagram or the process is not really clean. I suggest you to write to Instagram at with your email and username and mention your problem to them. I hope they will come with a solution.

      Thank you.

Did you ever get this figured out? I am currently experiencing the same issue and haven’t been able to get back into my instagram account. I keep getting the “Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again” message. Any help/insight you can offer would be great! You can’t email the Instagram support email anymore which is unfortunate.

I will advice you to try the process from both the web browser and mobile app. Just click the forgot password link, you will be taken to a page where it will ask to you enter your registered email/phone/username. The Login link will be sent to your email address, through which you can recover your deleted insta account.

If problem still persists, it may be reason that you had used your facebook account to login to Instagram or you have forgotten your insta login detail.
