#1: Open Google Chrome browser and click the menu icon located at the top right corner as shown in below screenshot. A drop-down menu will appear, click on Settings.
#2: Chrome settings screen will open in new tab, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click Advanced.
#3: Scroll down further until you find the Downloads section as shown in the screenshot below. Here you can change the default download location.
#4: Click on CHANGE to set a new download location for chrome. You can set any location on your computer. For the sake of this tutorial, I am changing the location to F:\ Drive and have created a new folder Download by clicking Make New Folder. Click OK to save the settings.
You can also enable the checkbox – Ask where to save each file before downloading which prompts chrome to ask everytime where to save the download file.

How to Change Default Download Location in Mozilla Firefox
#1: Open Firefox browser and click on Menu icon located at the upper right corner and then click Options or Preference(in some older version).
#2: In the General Settings, scroll down and look for Files and Applications. Click on Browse button next to Save files to and set a new download location. You can also select the checkbox Always ask you where to save files to allow Firefox to ask where to save the download file.
How to Change Default Download Location in Microsoft Edge
Microsoft Edge browser present in the latest Windows 10 OS allows you to change the default download Folder location.
#1: Open Microsoft Edge browser from the start menu. Click on the menu icon (3-horizontal dots) and then click on Settings.
#2: Scroll down to Advanced Settings and click on View Advanced Settings.
#3: Go to Downloads, click on Change to set a new download location.
How to Change Default Download Location in Internet Explorer ( IE)
If you want to change default download location in your Internet Explorer browser, do the following:
#1: Open Internet Explorer and press Ctrl+J to View Download dialog box.
#2: Click on Options at the bottom left.
#3: Now click on Browse and set the new default download location and Press Ok.
